Chinese New Year 2014

Woke up this morning on 初二 to see a nice FB status update by my bro:
Chinese new year will never be boring with my mom's (7) and my dad's (9) siblings. (Plus occasional visiting of parent's uncles/aunts). While I may not be equally close with all my cousins and face occasional awkwardness, its so nice to see my parent show their different having-fun-with-sibling side. Especially tonight, having moved on from the mourning period, my father's side was able to sit around and (carry on the tradition to) gamble together, with frequent mentions about my grandmother, in laughter and reminiscence. (Big) bonded families are awesome. #thankful
Because a CNY without my grandparents (physically) doesn't mean they are not with us. I spent my CNY eve with my grandma at the temple and we counted down (loudly) till the clock struck 12. Holding the joss sticks and looking at her picture through the glass, I got to admit that I could feel my tears welling up but it's a happy season and I knew she wanted us to be happy so I held it in -the power of TAHAN!

To both of my wonderwomen, Happy Chinese New Year, with love from your grandchildren <3
