Mt Rinjani.

6th May 2015 - 10th May 2015

When Finals ended (badly ahaha, but nvm tried my best so yay it's over!) on the 4th of May, I headed back to CAPT for the last time ever as a CAPTain. Had lunch with ROC and packed my room for the last time too :'( Had a really sad goodbye at the lobby, my dear ROCkers accompanied and sent me off even though they are not even done with finals </3 And my auntie Christine cried aiyo my heart broke la pls. I'll be back to visit I promise!

Spent my first day of freedom 5th May walking around Vivo with tze, we were supposed to go to SEA Aquarium but didn't bring along the compulsory card so it's okay! Ended up in Vivo shopping for a friends' gift and doing our own shopping for wet tissues etc for the trip too.

And then zoom zoom zoom time flew and 6th of May came!!! VERY VERY VERY EXCITED. It was an early flight so we all woke before the sun rose. Tadah! Here's us before checking in:

Us and our happy faces with zero muscle aches and full of energy gogogo! :D

But dangdangdangdanggg, Day 1 didn't really start off well HAHAHA we ended up doing a full tour of all of indo's airports, because we missed our second domestic flight (and rlly... they didn't annouce it at all leh). We were hobo-ing and ready and waiting for the flight when Jon decided to ask how long is it gna be delayed but NAH THE PLANE TOOK OFF. Sad :-( Leaving without us. Without annoucements/ or even last calls. Haiz. So that means more $ gone because we had to rebook another flight again! Thankfully it didn't affect our climb schedule! After travelling in the skies, we headed to travel on the road in a taxi and finally in the waters haha most local way of transport, in a slow slow slow ferry.

Day 2: IT BEGINS!!!

THE ONLY WAY TO GO IS UP. UP. UP. NON-STOP UP. The mountain didn't have much flat ground so we were rlly going uphill most of the time + I always thought I couldn't rock climb but this natural rock climb forced me to LOL. Very soon our legs started aching. But Day 1 was considered alright, the view of lots of greens and awesome skies and trees made everything so pretty :-)

Us during Lunch Break! Woahhh the food was really sedap sedap! Thankful for our porters and guides, I have FULL respect for them amazing people. We continued trekking uphill and uphill and uphill until we reached our campsite! HAD ANOTHER AMAZING MEAL OF GREEN CURRY FOR DINNER IT WAS HEAVEN, before we headed to bed really early, around 9+pm? But that's because we woke really early too at 1.30am hahaha it is time to conquer the summit!!!

Which was the most epic climb I ever did in my short human life of 21 years. CRAZY EPIC SHIT HAHAHA. Highest level of suan in the legs, plus the stones and rocks were really slippery haha yay I'm still alive. Joey told me before the climb that it was two steps up, one step down and hahaha that's nth but the truth. To keep going up you had to keep moving because any moment when you stop or give up you slide downwards. Woah lika life lesson hor? Philosophical max. Our kind guides ended up holding our hands and dragging us up at the Summit Push xiexienimen :-) We managed to catch a really really really beautiful sunrise too ahhhh things I'll never forget. And indo's nightsky is the best. Endless stars and SIAO I SAW A SHOOTING STAR EPIC EPIC EPIC *v*

FINALLY: WE DID IT :')

The really cold 5 deg summit!!! The wind was WHOOSH my four layers didn't feel like four layers and I used socks for my pig trotters:

And for the first time beer tasted rlly good up there hahaha timo brought his fav beer up:

Alamak but who goes up must come down. Which equals to... more shagness hahaha. I disliked going down even though it was easier haha. Because... I realized I have this fear of heights/falling down, esp when carrying a 7kg bag it feels like you're going to fall forward and roll down the whole mountain anytime hahaha. So... I SLIDE. My poor shoes I love </3 the soles are probably all gone hahaha. Basically I was the burden when going down I'm so sorry my friends, thank you so much Jon/Timo/Joey for guiding me down and taking care of tze and I, you guys are the best!

This was us when we were almostttt but really not that near the end hahaha.

The last day was a really rushed one because WE GOT A PLANE TO CATCH. Chiong chiong chiong! Set off at 6+am = more going down = more of me as a burden = EXTREME happiness when we actually reached base camp again. Omg it was a really long journey going down the mountain, followed by the jungle, with all our toes/legs/feet in pain. At the last part of the trek my legs were giving way already hahaha I fell so many times because they were just trembling like jellies. Like my mind says go but my legs say no hahaha.

Heheh dirty us finally got to bathe FOR THE FIRST TIME in THREE days HAHAHA I EMPTIED MY WHOLE BOTTLE OF SOAP I brought there LOL spam it man. Had been powder bathing all the time. And then it was back to travelling: Taxi > Ferry> Taxi> Airport!

Us on top of the ferry where we fell asleep under the night skies. Sounds lika romantic hor but of cos it didn't last because I woke up to crazy chilly cold wind slapping my whole body awake hahahaha BUAY TAHAN. So we went down again for about half an hour before we finally reached! :-)

More hobo-ing at the airport before it's home sweet home again. Five epic days I'll remember for life, thankful for my travel buddies too (am still embarrassed of my current walking speed because of lame legs). More to come my friends, like what we promised,

This is only the beginning :-)
