As usual, had the awkward meetup with dad's side. Aunties are really nice to talk to, cousins are too many and too un-close haha but I'm glad we are all grown up and mature enough to smile and wave and do some small updates on our lives. Plus girl cousins actually initiated and asked me to take a girl-picture tgt hehe so nice la they all. And Ah ma 你真的很会生，一生就生十个 it is crazy leh parenting for just one or two children is tough enough I cannot imagine being a single mum of TEN CHILDREN I cannot. On a less happy note, CNY is yet another reminder that ah ma has left. I was thinking about it at night and I got a bit emo because I pictured all the scenarios of 'if ah ma was here'. If ah ma was here, she'll be eating with me. If ah ma was here, she'll be playing blackjack tgt and be super cute. I love it when my ah ma gambles during cny LOL doesn't sound right. But anyway that's because she will be so vibrant and alert and happy like a shining star radiating joy all around hahaha. Oh well, life. Moves on :)
I don't meet my 姑姑s that often because dad didn't have a habit of bringing us tgt with his family since young. As we grew up we just met them twice a year haha once during cny and once during christmas. But still they are very nice to talk to, haha much less judgy and more funny than the other side. In comparison... the other side just asks me to eat 24/7 but I stood up for myself and made my point! YES I DID IT. I just had to be patient and repeat myself a few times but yes I got my point across :>
As I grow up I realized I'm caring less and less for CNY. It used to be such a huge big thing for me, but now it's just... like-that-lor. Why ah. On a more positive note... it was a good break and I like catching up with cousins again before we get busy busy this year. At least I get to meet them tmr and Friday again!
